Senior Master Sergeant (retired) Joe Ward of Springfield served over 33 years as a member of the Illinois Air National Guard. As a serviceman, he traveled throughout the world on active duty, including to many of the world’s “hot spots.” Since his retirement, Mst. Sgt. Ward has served as the Airman and Family Readiness Program Manager for the 183rd fighter wing of Springfield. Mst. Sgt. Ward will talk about his nearly 34 years experience with the Air National Guard from the time he left as a 19 year old H.S. graduate, to training in Colorado, to maintaining some of the fastest jets in the world, and on assignments around the world. Mst. Sgt. Ward now works to support and counsel families of those deployed plus servicemen in all branches of the military.

Mst. Sgt. Ward is a two time past commander of the Chatham American Legion Post 759 and is a life member of Chatham VFW Post 4763. You won’t want to miss Mst. Sgt. Ward’s presentation. His remarks should help us gain a greater appreciation of our U.S. servicemen. What a great way to spend Veteran’s Day!
